Delete Your Heaper Cloud Account

Sign in to manage and delete your cloud account

You can delete your Heaper Cloud account yourself in the account portal. No app installation or email to support is needed. This feature applies only to Heaper Cloud, not accounts on self-hosted servers.

Confirm your deletion

  1. Sign in to the account portal with your account email and login code.
  2. Review Delete your Heaper Cloud account. Each heap you own is listed as either transferring to another administrator or being permanently deleted because no other eligible administrator remains. Save anything you want to keep first.
  3. Cancel any renewing subscriptions through their billing provider, then refresh the account status. Cancellation must be recorded before deletion can proceed.
  4. Select Send deletion confirmation code. This sends a separate, short-lived code to your verified account email.
  5. Enter that code, type DELETE, and select Permanently delete my cloud account.

Requesting a code does not delete anything. Deletion happens only after you explicitly confirm it in the signed-in portal. Never share your login or deletion codes with anyone.

If heap membership or the deletion impact changes before confirmation, deletion stops. Review the updated list and request a new code before confirming again.

What is deleted

Your cloud account, sessions, profile, and memberships are removed. A heap you own is deleted only when no other eligible heap administrator remains. The portal explicitly lists these heaps before confirmation. Their notes, files, previews, tags, and metadata are removed, and other members lose access. Physical file cleanup runs automatically and retries failures. A file still used by another block is preserved. Links to deleted blocks in surviving notes are removed in background batches, using the same document operations as permanent trash deletion. You do not need to open every note for that cleanup to run.

If another administrator remains, the heap transfers to that administrator and its content and other members' access are preserved. The new owner must have a verified personal cloud account and administrator access to the entire heap. Ordinary members, scoped shares, and agent accounts cannot take ownership through this flow. You can assign another eligible administrator before deleting your account to preserve a heap.

Heaps owned by other people and your contributions to those heaps remain with their owners. Local copies, exported files, and data or accounts on self-hosted servers are unchanged. Deleting the cloud account does not uninstall the app.

You lose portal access to purchased licenses. Already activated perpetual server licenses remain usable; subscription server unlocks expire under their existing terms.

Retained records

Payment and tax records, backups, logs, and support communications follow the retention periods in the Privacy Policy. Minimal account, heap, and block identifiers are retained to prevent old sessions or offline clients from recreating deleted data. Cleanup jobs retain storage locations only while cleanup is pending; completed jobs discard them. Storage-location fingerprints prevent an old cleanup retry from affecting a newly uploaded file.

Deletion cannot be undone. Signing up again creates a new account and does not restore the deleted account or its cloud heaps.
