Local-First Privacy

Heaper's local-first architecture means:

• Your data lives on your device first — not on someone else's server
• Offline by default — Heaper works without a network connection. Free and perpetually licensed self-hosted servers need no ongoing internet validation. A subscription server checks its license online when connected, with 30 days of offline use after every successful check.

Cloud Service (heaper.de)

If you use the hosted cloud service at heaper.de:

• Data is stored on servers in accordance with our privacy policy
• GDPR-compliant data handling
• You can export your data at any time
• You can delete your account and data

Self-Hosted Privacy

Self-hosting gives you maximum privacy:

• All data stays on your own infrastructure
• No telemetry or analytics sent to Heaper
• You control backups, encryption, and access
• Free and perpetually licensed servers have no ongoing dependency on external services
• Perpetual licenses let you use your purchased features forever, including future security and app-compatibility updates
• Subscription plans include one reassignable Pro server license while active; the server checks heaper.de daily when online and retains the unlock for 30 days after a successful check
